Yo La Tengo's forthcoming Here to Fall Remixes EP has remakes from hip-hop producers RJD2, Pete Rock and Maseo of De La Soul. As of right this moment, you can listen to the moody Rock redo-- which features the producer and sometime MC rapping the lines, "We on point like Uncle Sam/ Peep the remix, Yo La Tengo is the man band"-- above. On June 8, Matador Records releases Yo La Tengo's Here to Fall Remixes EP. It features the standout Popular Songs track redone by De La Soul's Maseo, RJD2, and Pete Rock, who "drops a verse about Yo La Tengo themselves" on his version, according to Matador. This is some rap-rock we can (potentially) fuck with. The scuzzy, hypnotic original was given our Best New Music distinction last summer.
